The Provincial Chapter of the Irish Dominicans is currently taking place at St. Mary's, Tallaght. On August 28th last, the capitulars re-elected Fr John Harris OP as Prior Provincial. We pray for Fr Harris as he guides the Irish brethren over the next four years.
The Annual Pilgrimage Walk to Our Lady’s Grotto, Ballyheigue will take place on Monday September 8th commencing at 6am from Holy Cross Church to arrive for 11am Mass at Our Lady’s Grotto, Ballyheigue.
Join Holy Cross Tralee for the annual National Dominican Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine on Sunday 12th October. Mass in the Basilica of Our Lady, Queen of Ireland will be celebrated by Master of the Dominican Order Fr Gerard Timoner OP.

Next year's National Dominican Pilgrimage to Lourdes is scheduled for 22nd - 27th May 2026. Some members of our Children's Rosary group were live on Radio Maria Ireland at lunchtime on Saturday 23rd August, praying the Glorious Mysteries. The children included prayers to Blessed Pier Giorgio and Blessed Carlo in honour of their upcoming canonisations on September 7th. A wonderful occasion for the children, with a further opportunity later in the autumn.
As it was a live broadcast, it didn't involve all members of the group. But the monthly Children's Rosary, open to all children up to the age 14, takes place again this coming Tuesday evening August 26th at 6:15pm. The group is encouraging families to return again this month, and to invite a family to join them. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
In honour of the canonisations by Pope Leo of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and Blessed Carlo Acutis on September 7th in Rome, two events shall take place in Holy Cross. Before the usual Sunday noon Mass, our Children's Rosary group shall meet at 11:15am at the altar of Our Lady of Fatima to pray the Rosary, and also say special prayers to the newly canonised saints. In celebrating their sainthood, we are reminded of God's goodness and glory.
