Holy Cross
at the heart of Tralee

We are a community of Dominicans and part of the Irish Province of the Order of Preachers (The Dominican Order). Our life revolves around prayer and bringing others into a relationship with Jesus Christ. In light of this, our journey of faith with the people of Tralee has remained almost unchanged since the day we arrived here almost 800 years ago, in 1243.

Truth through Beauty

On Good Shepherd Sunday Fr Michael Dunleavy OP delivered a wonderfully rich illustrated lecture, chronicling the life and ‘Way of Beauty’ of Fra Angelico from c.1390-1400 right through to the 1980s when Pope John Paul II beatified him and proclaimed him ‘Patron before God, of all artists, especially painters’.
